I didn't think I would be able to stop my smoking habit. When I decided that I had to break the smoking habit I started with a list of pros and cons for my decision to smoke or to stop. Otherwise what I was getting out of smoking and then the cons to keeping my smoking habit. Of course the pros far outweighed the cons. The financial and health costs of a smoking addiction makes the decision to continue on one you cant really confirm in any sense except for the fact that as a smoker this is a habit that you cherish.
After I made my list I hung this list up on my bathroom mirror and also on my bedroom door. I wanted everyday to see my motivation for changing my behavior this aided quite since quitting smoking is a decision one has to renew day by day. When ever you stop smoking you have to anticipate there will be times when you will error but in the times past that I slipped, I just accepted failure and started smoking full steam ahead. This time if I backslid and bought a pack of cigarettes or smoked one I begged from a friend I allowed myself forgiveness for not being perfect and started right back up.
Once I saw the scales go up I made sure to workout more and not to rearrange eating with smoking. I also rewarded myself by pampering myself with anything I normally would not do for myself. In the event I pay attention to careful smoking control my cigarette use always goes down. I will not say that I don't think about smoking from time to time and perhaps always will but I always prompt myself that what you save is both money and health. Your clothes do not stink of smoke your hair doesn't reek of smoke and you can taste the food you eat. You can also put the money you would have used for punching cigarettes into a saving account and watch it grow.
